OLED Gaming Monitor: Superior Image Quality

2024-05-01

OLED technology is a relatively new display screen technology, characterized by high image quality, flexibility, low power consumption, and of course a higher price.

Advantages of OLED

Excellent image quality: OLED has much better image quality than LCD. It does not require a backlight, OLED pixels can emit light by themselves and can be controlled individually. Therefore, it can provide deeper, more realistic pure black and ultra-high contrast. It has a wider color gamut and provides better image quality. At the same time, because it has higher luminous efficiency, it consumes less energy than LCD.

Fast response time:
OLED monitor can provide faster refresh rates and faster response times. When playing fast-paced games, there will be no blur of high-speed motion pictures. Let you respond to any action of your opponent in the first place.

Burn-in Question: The most concerned issue about OLED

OLED monitors are prone to burn-in after long-term use.The cause of burn-in is that users repeatedly display the same static picture in the same position on the display for a long time. For example, if you often watch the same news program or play the same game, the fixed position and image area of these games or programs will easily leave a faint watermark on the screen. Especially when you watch it for several weeks and display the same picture.

What factors can reduce the screen burn-in?
1) Reduce the screen brightness.
2) If you notice slight pixel retention, watch something else for a while. Try not to watch the same show or play the same game for too long.

1) Pixel Refresh: After the monitor has been used for 4 hours, when the user turns off the monitor or switches it to standby mode, the monitor will first start pixel refresh and then enter standby mode.

2) Professional Compensation: Compared with pixel refresh, it is a deeper compensation for the drive current/voltage. The monitor will be compensated after 500 hours of cumulative use.

3) Pixel Displacement: It will shift several pixels in real time to prevent long-term use of the same screen (which will increase the risk of screen burn-in).

4) ABL: The monitor will automatically reduce the brightness when the user has no operation for a long time to avoid the display being in a high-brightness static screen.

5) Screen Protection: The factory default setting is that after 5 minutes of no operation, the monitor will turn on the screen saver function---turn off the screen, and a pop-up window will pop up to remind you that it is currently in screen saver mode.

6) It is recommended that the factory default settings be used for the anti-screen burn-in mechanism during the use of OLED monitors, and pixel clearing is performed regularly to ensure that the best display effect can be provided.

In addition, regarding the burn-in problem, KTC provides a 1-year warranty service, and the warranty time may be extended according to actual conditions.
